About the car

The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (marketed as Mercedes-AMG SL since 2022) is a grand touring sports car manufactured by Mercedes-Benz since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Sport- Leicht (English: Sport Light). A legend born not just to race but to set records, the SL has been winning the hearts of drivers for generations. For 2023, the icon is reborn, with 577 biturbo V8 horses and a fusion of innovative tech, impeccable luxury, and inimitable style.

SL models are powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 borrowed from the GT sports car. In the SL55 the engine makes a stout 469 horsepower but upgrading to the SL63 boosts that figure to a thundering 577 ponies. A nine-speed automatic is the only transmission, and an all-wheel-drive system and four-wheel steering are standard on all SL models.
